Arrested Development: Season 1, Ep. 20-Whistler’s Mother

Rating: 3.9/5

Michael reveals that some company money has finally been unfrozen which causes all the Bluths to harrass him for money. Lindsay asks him for money to fix herself up to have an affair. Mchael of course refuses only to have Lucille also ask for money for Buster to have an operation.

Upset with his family’s abuse of money, Michael goes to work. He arrives at a staff meeting with whistles which he states should be used when you see something wrong. The staff of course, are childish and incompotent as well and play with the whistles which causes Michael to take them back again, playing the role of father/the only one with a brain.

Meanwhile, George Michael claims that he saw George walking around on the boardwalk which causes Maeby to mock him. Maeby later sees him as well and they freak out. However, it turns out that this is Oscar, George’s twin brother who is in town and also in need of money. Michael refuses to just hand out the money and instead decides to buy Oscar’s lemon grove which as it turns out, is actually worthless. Embarrassed by this, Michael begs Gob and Tobias to not tell George about this.

Once again, Lucille states that she must fix Michael’s mistake just as she had when she made his algebra teacher disappear. Lucille orders Oscar to take his land back and he does but only because he is in love with her. Oscar takes this as Lucille being interested in him and decides to pursue a relationship.

Lucille informs Michael that the situation is taken care of but must now confront Mr. Jordan who is on the board of investors but is a pain in the a**. Lucille tells Michael that won’t be necessary as she used the money to buy out his part of the shares. Thrilled Michael starts his meeting only to be greeted by the pleasant surprise that Lucille is now part of the board.

Everytime I watch this show, I cannot help but wonder if this is what companys really are like. I mean not the whole dysfunctional family but in general, corruption. But then again, I can’t help but think about the whoel financial meltdown situation and wonder what the writers of this would have thought about it. Like is it similar or not?

Arrested Development: Season 1, Ep. 19-Best Man for the Gob

This episode revolves around the fact that Gob is still married to his wife (who I just realzied, is unnamed) and the fact that the company’s books are messed up and that the accountant, Ira Gilligan, is not willing to lie if he is asked to testify.

After seeing that his marriage has lasted more than two weeks, Michael offers to throw him a bachelor party only to reveal he wants to end it after George told him it’s a bad idea. Clearly, Michael had already said this but he did not listen to him. George however, changes his mind and decides to be Gob’s best man and throw him a bachelor party. However, this party is just a cover as Gob wants to use this opportunity as a way to trick Ira by getting him drunk and having him think he killed a stripper and fleeing the country.

Meanwhile, Buster is jealous that Annyong gets to have juice and play soccer as he was never allowed to. George however says that he never got to play sports because he was a turd on the field. Jealous, Buster decides to help Gob with his bachelor party/plan but is distracted when he finds juice at the party. While this is going on, Tobias enlists Michael to help him reunite “Dr. Fünke’s 100% Natural Good-Time Family Band Solution” which was a folk band he had with Lindsay and Maeby.

The day of the party, Michael and George Michael show up even though they were not invited and end up exposing the whole plan to set up Ira. Furious, Ira states that he’s definately testifying. Tobias ends up performing alone after the family stormed out. However, Gob’s wife ends up joining him and realizes that she is in love with Tobias. Eventually, Ira does end up leaving and is seen on vacation with the stripper from the bachelor party.

I really did not like this episode. Although I did know the writers were referencing to Gilligan’s Island, I never watched the show so perhaps I don’t find it as funny as it was intended. Overall, I love that Annyong is getting more lines and that he hates Buster who he calls “Fatty”. It’s nice to see that he is turning out to be just like Lucille. Again, I really want to see what else Annyong can do.

Rating: 4/5

Arrested Development: Season 1, Ep. 18-Missing Kitty

This episode revolves around Kitty finally coming back after being absent over several episodes. Michael reveals that she was on sick leave as she had something wrong with her chest but had no problem cashing her checks.

Kitty returns with a new pair of breasts in anticipation of spring break as the previous spring break, she was not featured on “Girls with Low Self Esteem” because her breasts were too small. Michael, as well as I, find her boob job disturbing.

Kitty announces that she is going on vacation and that her break did not count as it was sick leave. Michael threatens that if she leaves, she’s fired which he indeed does.

Meanwhile, Lindsay and Maeby go off to Lucille’s house after having gone to look for Nana who would send them a check every month. Lucille claims Nana is on a cruise when she has actually been dead for 6 months. Lucille does not say this as she is afraid that her kids will hound her for inheritance money and she is too busy putting her things into Annyong’s pocket as she is now using him as a purse.

George Michael and Gob had been bonding as he has no school and Gob has no job. Both Bluth men are busy working on Gob’s comeback act after failing miserably on his appearance on YOM Channel (youth oriented music). George Michael is really fascinated by Gob but Michael asks him to stay away from him as he is a bad influence. Instead, Michael asks George Michael to fill in for Kitty at the Bluth Company.

George Bluth is shocked to hear George Michael after calling the company and hearing that Kitty was fired for her incompotence. George Michael yells at Michael for firing her as “you never fire crazy”. The elder Bluth knows that Kitty has too much information on the Bluths and could ruin them. Therefore, he orders Gob to make the yacht disappear as that is where some evidence is hidden.

Michael goes down to Senor Tadpoles where Kitty said she would have a margarita made in her mouth. After trying to give her her job back, Michael realizes she does not deserve the job and fires her again but threatens her after she threatens him with exposing the company. Everyone at the restaurant hears this and makes the evening news.

The next day, Gob is finally ready to fulfill his promise of making the yacht disappear. George Michael goes against Michael’s wishes and goes in search of Gob to help him with the illusion. Gob however, respects Michael’s wishes for once and tells him to leave. However, George Michael ends up sneaking onto the boat anyway. However, Kitty also sneaks onto the boat looking for the evidence. Gob does in fact succeed in making the yacht disappear. The family is shocked and asks how he did it. He reveals that he sank and blew up the yacht. Michael realizes that George Michael might have been on there but George Michael arrives and decides that Gob’s lifestyle is not one that he wants. However, it is revealed that Kitty was on the yacht and is seen floating in the water with her evidence.

Meanwhile, Lindsay reveals that Nana had passed away and questions Lucille on where it is. Lucille claims she has invested it and used it to get Annyong a trust fund and that no one can touch it until he’s 18. However, in the previews, Lupe finds a paper that states that Annyong is already 18.

I loved this episode because it’s just sad how desperate Kitty and Gob are for attention. Like they’re how old and still hanging around teenagers at spring break. Really?! However, it was entertaining to watch. Also, I love how the whole Bluth and Saddam Hussein mystery is unraveling like little clues like the “MADDAS” box which is saddam spelled backwards. I’m really looking forward to what’s going to happen with that.

The West Wing-Pilot

This show premiered in 1999 and I was 6 at that time. I feel I need to mention this as this is probably why I was not really excited to hear that we had to watch this while everyone was super excited. Therefore, seeing this, I felt like I was not at all interested. I feel like for some reason this episode just gives off a vibe where everything is fast paced and I have no clue what is going on but then again, this is probably what the White House is really like. I think perhaps because we were not formally introduced to each character like “Hi I’m ________, and I do _______” it threw me off but eventually we were told who was who but in a rather confusing and rushed way. However, I was very interested in the whole Joshua Lyman “scandal” as I feel we kind of just experienced this with the whole Michelle Obama shaking the president of Indonesia’s hand. Although her case wasn’t as severe as Joshua sort of putting down Mary’s religion, I feel like the whole press/damage control probably did happen. However, I feel like I would not at all fire Joshua Lyman as sure, he represents the White House (in a way) but as the minister said, what happened to free speech. Plus, if the whole free speech thing were the case, we could easily bring up the whole separation of church and state which the United States is supposed to uphold. Clearly, there are different sides to this case and if her audience or she was insulted by the comment, she should be angry and Lyman and not the White House as clearly, the government wouldn’t admit that they were “too busy being caught for tax evasion”. I feel like if a “scandal” like this were to happen now, it would have gone down exactly the same way. The press would have a field day but, Josh would not be fired even though the media would shred this guy as well as the government to pieces for “offending Christianity.” Overall, I felt whatever, clearly these people are extreme Christians and as  a Catholic, I don’t think this was too terrible. Like compared to today’s “shock jocks”, this was nothing.

Also, I feel the incorporation of Sam’s date being a call girl was silly but then again we all live looking for the next big scandal in politics. It was pretty cute though, like the idea of switching beepers. And BEEPERS?! Again, I feel because I was like 6 at the time I don’t really remember the whole beeper phenomenon but I do vaguely remember my parents having beepers but who would page them? Anyway, I agree, the President’s entrance was pretty darn amazing. I love the way he went from like this old guy just telling a story to like verbally abusing these people which is pretty darn amazing. I can’t help but get the urge to go to the White House and see if it’s really like this. Like is Obama really as cool as this guy? Also, I remember seeing the guy said the whole New York sense of humor refers to Judaism in the super cheesy Disney Channel movie “My Date With the President’s Daughter” so it was kind of funny to see him in the White House again. Oh and I absolutely loved the incorporation of the cheesy presidential music at the end like, how predictable is that?

Arrested Development: Season 1, Ep. 17-Justice is Blind

Rating: 4.5/5

This episode is the first in the series that I’ve considered as 2 part as this is a continuation of the whole Maggie Lizer ordeal. Perhaps the best line in this whole episode was a vet telling Michael that “Justice is Blind” which is true in so many ways. It is here that Michael realizes that Maggie is not blind at all. Knowing this, Michael no longer feels bad for what he is going to do. I should start from the beginning.

After recieving a folder containing a list of evidence from Maggie, Michael goes back to the minimansion and tells this to the other Bluths. Gob immediately decides to send someone to Maggie’s house to steal the evidence. However, he himself is not able to do this as he must perform his husbandly duties. Instead, Gob sends Tobias to break into Maggie’s house. Using his catlike abilities, Tobias breaks into Maggie’s house only to arrive just as Maggie is arriving. Maggie is of course angered by the fact that Tobias is in her house but cannot reveal herself as she is “blind”. Therefore, she decides to the next best thing which is follow Tobias around while swinging a bat around at random.

Meanwhile, Michael is the vet’s office as he was supposed to take Justice (Maggie’s seeing dog) back to her house but decided to see what it’s like to not be able to see. However, while doing this, Justice leads them onto the road where he is then hit by a car. It is at the vet’s where Michael is told that Justice is actually the one who’s blind and that Maggie has been leading him around. Angered by this, Michael decides to expose Maggie at the courthouse.

At court, Michael makes a whole speech about how Justice is blind and to prove his point, throws the bible at Maggie’s face hoping she would catch it. She of course, does not catch it as she was temporarily blinded by Tobias who sprayed her with perfume after almost being caught.

Maggie is taken off the case and apologizes for lying to Michael. She reveals that she made up this whole blind thing after discovering being handicapped could help her with her LSATs. Both she and Michael decide it would be best to not see each other anymore but end up sleeping together for one last time.

Overall, this made up for the kind of blandness of the last episode and for the absense of Tobias in other episodes. I have made it no secret that I find Tobias as my favorite character and absolutely loved his “cat like abilities”. However, I was sad to see that Maggie and Michael did not end up together as what difference did it make whether they stopped seeing each other. I mean, regardless, she was taken off the case. Hopefully, Michael finds someone soon because I’m getting pretty annoyed.

Arrested Development: Season 1, Ep. 16-Altar Egos

Rating: 3.5/5

This episode is perhaps one of the oddest. I say this because this is the episode where Michael really gets back into the dating game. After meeting at the courthouse to discuss George’s fate, Michael, upon Gob’s insistance, decides to go to the bar across the street from the courthouse which is full of lawyers. It is here that he meets Maggie Lizer who is a lawyer. After a couple of drinks, Michael goes to he house and sleeps with her. The next morning, Michael tries to escape his first one night stand only to discover that Maggie is blind. Of course, Michael feels bad and decides to continue going out with her.

Later that day, Michael tells Gob of what has happened and it is here where Gob reveals he too had a one night stand gone wrong as he ended up marrying the girl he went out with. This woman is played by Amy Poehler who strangely enough, is married to Will Arnett (Gob) in real life. Ha!

The next day, the Bluths go to court after deciding it would be in everyone’s best interest to accept the plea. However, Michael is left completely shocked after discovering that Maggie is the most feared prosecutor and luckily enough, was assigned to their case. Michael’s good nature causes him to once again feel guilty and decides to tell Maggie the truth. However, Maggie interrupts him and asks him to look through the Bluth family case overview and decide if she has a case. Michael is left torn between sides as this is the information he was looking for but feels it is not right to take advantage of a blind person like that. However, during the previews of the next episode, it is revealed that Maggie is not actually blind.

Although this is a godo episode, I love the mystery going on with Maeby. George Michael is asked to tutor her but instead she pays him off. George Michael is curious as to where Maeby is getting money from and decides to confront her. However, Maeby claims that she has a fundraiser to attend. George Michael decides to follow her only to find out that Maeby has pretending to be twins, Maeby and Surely, but Surely, is sick. She plays this up in order to have fundraisers held for her which is where she is making so much money from. This is perhaps the one time I actually like/enjoys segments involving Maeby only because I think that this idea is so stupid and shows how stupid people really are because they are actually believing her. However, I’m not too sure if I actually like this episode.

Arrested Development: Season 1, Ep. 15-Staff Infection

Rating: 4.5/5

I am now even more reassured of the fact that the Bluths are absolutely terrible people. First, Lucille refuses to give her housekeeper Lupe the day off for a family reunion which is crazy as her condo is spotless. Secondly, we see all the Bluth’s going crazy over not getting their paychecks even though they don’t work. Seriously!? This is exactly why the Bluth Company was doing so terribly.

Anywho, Michael decides to put everyone (except Lucille) to work. Buster begins to work at the office copy room but panics as the confinement reminds him of a sheep attack had suffered the year before. Lindsay is made weekend secretary but instead takes this opportunity to remodel the office. After his unsuccessful attempt at being copy maker, Michael decides Buster would be best suited for outdoor work.

When they arrive at the Bluth construction site, Buster is immediately put to work. It is here where Gob arrives on his stupid Segway asking to be paid. Instead, he too, is put to work. Naturally, I am enjoying the Bluth family’s horrific attempt at “working”. As Michael arrives back at the office he is greeted by the sight of his staff going out to lunch after Lindsay decides to take them out to lunch. Michael states that if this happens, they will lose the “sheep”. As always, Michael is right as the staff mistakes Lupe’s family reunion bus for a company bus and go off to Catalina Island.

Meanwhile, Lindsay convinces Michael to take the rest of the day off and spend time with George Michael. Similarly, Maeby convincesGeorge Michael to leave her and Annyong in charge of the banana stand and go spend time with Michael. Michael finds out that George Michael went off to the beach and decides to go find him. It is here where he discovers the solution to the construction zoning problem with the help of sand castles.

At the construction site, Gob messes up as he reveals that he and Buster got paychecks while the construction crew had not. Fed up with this injustice, Gob declares they put a freeze on the construction site. Buster however, argues that they should build just for fun which cause Gob to insult him. Buster finally cracks and decides to fight Gob. The crew tells them that on a construction site, there is only one way to decide who’s a chicken and that is by playing “Chicken” which is a face off  with the use of bulldozers.

Lindsay decides to fix the work stoppage by herself. While leaving the office, she sees Lupe and her family standing around waiting for the bus and sees this as an opportunity to fix this whole mess. Again, naturally, I am mildly insulted at the fact that the show decides to use Mexicans as construction workers, geez, what a stereotype!

While George Michael is at the office, he decides to call Michael who is busy making sand castles. He decides that perhaps Michael really doesn’t care about him. It is at this moment that he finds a folder Michael had in his desk drawer full of projects and work George Michael had made when he was younger and was therefore convinced that Michael really did love him. However, it is also at this moment that investigators come in and steal this “proof” folder from his hands.

Lindsay finally arrives at the construction site where she threatens to bring in Lupe’s family as laborers if they don’t get back to work. Michael also arrives but with the solution to the spacing problems and decides that everyone has been working too hard and that they should have a party. It is here that Lucille also arrives demanding that Lupe help her with her groceries which consist of liquor. They decide to use this and hold the party.

There were several moments which were funny but I especially loved the whole “staff are sheep” analogy as we see the staff being lost on a farm and following a sheep they find. Then, a sheep herder finds them and uses sheep dogs to herd them into a truck to take them back. Overall, I was quite  fond of this episode as it was like a breather episode. Like taking a break from the insanity that is the Bluth family.

Memorable Quotes:

Lucille:“Suddenly playing with yourself is a scholarly pursuit.”

Gob:”It’s a game of men”

Buster:”Well, it’s a game I’m ready for. Oh wait, my seat doesn’t have a cushion!”

Arrested Development: Season 1, Ep. 14-Shock and Aww

This episode revolves around the fact that Michael is finally (!) open to dating. However, he chooses to date George-Michael’s ethics teacher, Ms. Barely who of course, he has a crush on. However, what I loved more than this misunderstanding is the fact that Lucille’s new son finally arrives. Also, something kind of crazy was the fact that Jane Lynch was in this episode. I mean with the insane amount of attention and popularity “Glee” has, it’s refreshing to see her playing a different character. (In her case, her role is a spy for the SCC who is sent to investigate George but ends up falling in love with him.)

The story is that Lucille and George knew their family’s reputation was going down the tubes so, in order to appear “charitable”, the elder Bluth’s decided to adopt a young Korean boy. However, this was years before George was thrown in jail and now, Lucille must live with the fact that the adoption paperwork went through and that she is now the proud mother of a Korean boy she calls “Annyong” which means “hello” in Korean. The boy said this as literally hello but Lucille took it as this being his name. Buster takes Annyong to George-Michael and Maeby’s school to register him for classes. In the background, you can see a poster that says “Hold On Surely Funkё!” which foreshadows the next episode as “Surely” is Maeby’s “twin” sister with a terminal illness. I will discuss this in an upcoming blog post.

Anyway, in order to shock the family, Maeby takes Annyong to the school dance where Gob shows up looking for his 18 year old girlfriend Shannon who he cheated on. It is there that Michael decides to tell George Michael the truth about his dating Ms. Barely. When Michael confronts George Michael, Gob steps in and exclaims how he did sleep with the ethics teacher who was actually the civics teacher aka, the wrong lady. Ms. Barely ends up telling Michael off as she feels they have no future.

Throughout this whole episode, I couldn’t help but notice all of the irony going on. I couldn’t help but feel that Ms. Barely actually loved Saddam Hussein even though she stated she was anti war and violence. Also, when she said she doesn’t like kids but took up one of her students’ offer of a cupcake and dance, I felt like she really was interested in this student. Overall, I am once again left disappointed at the fact that Michael still does not end up finding a good woman to love. Also, I love the foreshadowing as I’m not going to lie, but I read on imdb.com that George was also convicted of minor treason as he provided Saddam Hussein with mini mansions exactly like the one Michael is living in except I heard this doesn’t happen until season 2. So, I’ll just have to wait and see. Overall, I’m glad that I can answer yet another question from the blog list which is “What outside influences could have affected this show?” which is the whole Bluth Company helping Saddam Hussein ordeal which as we all know, Hussein was a huge deal in the early 2000s which is around the time this show was actually airing.

Rating: 4/5

Memorable Quotes:

Michael: “Buster, you’re a grown man, you should be living with your mother”

Lucille: “A little Korean boy is here, well at least I think it’s a him. You’ve gotta strip them down next to nothing to tell.”

Rage on the Radio-Response

Rage on the Radio

In the segment, Rage on the Radio, from Bill Moyers Journal, we see just how influential “shock jocks” are to society. Moyers quotes Oliver Holmes who stated that “Language is sacred, and that it’s abuse should be criminal.” This is “verbicide” or use of words in a violent matter is something many would agree with as wrong, well everyone except for the “shock jocks” we hear so much about. Moyers leads into this idea as he recaps the events at the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church in Knoxville, Tennessee where a 58 year old unemployed truck driver opened fire against innocent church goers. One person was left dead, one was mortally wounded and six were left injured. As the reverend, Chris Buice states, “This man was armed with not only weapons but with hate.” The next day, in a police statement, it was revealed that the shoot was frustrated over not being able to obtain a job as well as his hatred of the liberal movement, which was supported in this church. The killer stated that “all liberals should be killed because they were ruining this country.” Additionally, several books by right wing radio talk show hosts were found in his home. This might come as a shock to average people but for conservatives, maybe not. This type of language is heard all over by radical right wing talk radio hosts who take advantage of every form of media out there to deliver their hateful and quite frankly disgusting thoughts.  By this I mean the ideas expressed by shock jocks such as Michael Savage who claims “liberalism is like the HIV virus”, “gays are pigs”, as well as attacking kids with autism by saying “they are brats who haven’t been told to cut the act.” Among these hateful people is Glenn Beck who fantasizes about killing liberal filmmaker Michael Moore. It’s one thing to keep these things to yourself, but to go out and say them on the radio?! Really?! These people are the reason so much violence and hate exists. These people scapegoat liberals, minorities, you name them, and they blame them. They blame liberals for the violence and wrongs in the country when in reality, it is these right wing talk show hosts that are spreading negativity. Someone in the interview pointed out that you never see Liberals using extreme hateful language against Conservatives but you see this type of talk all the time among right wingers. I honestly do not understand why no action is taken against these people. Sure, they have freedom of speech but when this speech encourages hate and killing then shouldn’t this be an indicator of perhaps too much free speech. I’ll tell you the reason, money. These shock jocks have millions upon millions of listeners each week and are bestselling authors. Therefore, they clearly make a lot of money, money which can be used to support right wing candidates and officials which is why nothing is done to stop all the hate being harnessed by these people. It’s going to take a tragedy for the government to realize that maybe something should be done.

Arrested Development: Season 1, Ep. 13-Beef Consomme

Rating 4.5/5

Finally! The moment I had been waiting for has finally arrived! Michael and Marta finally tell each other how they feel. However, like always, their high family values prevent them from showing each other how they really feel. They realize that in order to go forward with this relationship, they must first tell Gob what has been going on.

While these two people are falling in love, Tobias and Lindsay are falling out of love. They continue arguing and masking their feelings in front of Maeby even though it is pretty obvious that their relationship is going nowhere. Meanwhile, George Michael continues to getting to the bottom of whether or not Maeby is related to him. However, Tobias is distracted by the fact that his new gig calls for a shower seen which of course, is a big problem for a never nude.

Buster asks Gob straight up if he’s done with Marta so that he can pursue a relationship with her. This is pretty hilarious as all three Bluth brothers are after the same woman which leads me to believe, that this will not work out for any of them.  While talking to Gob, Buster tells him that hermano means brother which have got Gob’s gears turning. He rushes to the soap opera set to confront Marta about her relationship with hermano. Michael finds out about this and races over to stop him while Buster gets ready for the family courthouse appearance the next day.

Meanwhile George Michael goes to Lucille so that he can tell her how Maeby got to existing. Lucille reveals that she was “made in a cup, like soup, a $130,000 cup of soup.” She also says that Maeby spent her inheritance on getting here so she shouldn’t look forward to that. George Michael is thrilled about this new information.  While confronting “hermano”, Gob gets beat up by the guy he believes is sleeping with Marta and ends up in 2/3 of a hospital room (the set that is used for hospital scenes.) It is here that Michael reveals that the hermano Marta likes has been him all along. Gob states that he would not have minded this as he is an amazing guy and suggests that he “goes for it.”

Michael arrives at Marta’s house and proceed to kiss while Buster looks on, heartbroken, in the background. Just as they’re about to do it, Michael receives a call from Lucille. Everyone had forgotten about George’s hearing leaving Lucille alone with Gob at the courthouse. Meanwhile Lindsay and Tobias help each other in getting past Tobias issue of not being able to nude.

While at the hearing, Buster tells Gob that he saw Michael and Marta kissing. Gob did not believe that he would really go ahead with this relationship. Michael shows up late to the hearing and Gob confronts him. However, since this show is filmed like a documentary/reality show, the camera is not allowed inside the courtroom which defeats the purpose as they already had a scene inside the courtroom. Their fight took them all the way outside the court and Buster joined in just so he could fulfill his dream of being punched in the face. Meanwhile, Lindsay and Tobias were still undressing as a way to help him overcome his fear of nudity and for the first time in several years, had sex.

Back at the park where the fight was still going on, Marta arrived only to break off all ties with the Bluth’s after seeing they clearly did not care about family. They both realize this is not the way brothers should act and decide to stop fighting.  Buster however, is still unhappy about not being punched in the face and when Michael almost does, he quickly crawls up into a ball.

Even though I was thrilled that Michael and Marta were finally together, my dreams were crushed due to Michael and Gob’s immaturity. However, I am glad that Tobias got over being a never nude and based on the previous, he is now liberated and comfortable being nude all the time even in front of the family.  I am also confused over the episode name as usually they tie into the episode but a title like “Beef Consomme” doesn’t make sense since consumme is like a broth soup thing unless it is referring to the soup analogy.
